Questions & Answers
Answering difficult questions about God
The Bible is more than a religious book—it’s the story of God pursuing humanity with love, justice, and grace. It’s been a source of wisdom, hope, and direction for millions. It’s alive and speaks to our lives today (Hebrews 4:12). It helps us navigate an uncertain world (Psalm 119:105), reminds us to seek justice and walk humbly (Micah 6:8), and calls us to trust God at all times (Proverbs 3:5-6).
How can someone know it’s true? Most people don’t start with belief—they start with curiosity. You don’t have to believe it all at once to explore it. Most people start simply by reading some of Jesus’ words, and asking, “What if this is true? What might it mean for me?” Truth invites investigation. The Bible invites you to see for yourself!
esus isn’t just a wise teacher or spiritual leader. He is the Son of God, fully human and fully divine, who lived a sinless life, died for us, and rose again to life so we could be saved. Christianity isn’t about working your way to God. It’s about God coming to us because He loves us (John 3:16-17). Salvation isn’t something we earn. It’s a gift through Jesus alone (Acts 4:12).
Following Jesus means trusting him, turning from sin, and choosing daily to live by his example. It starts with a simple, honest response: believe in who He is, confess your need for him, and invite him into your life (Romans 10:9-10). A relationship with Jesus isn’t about religion. It’s about knowing him personally.
If you’ve put your faith in Jesus, you are completely forgiven –not because you earned it, but because He died for your sins (Ephesians 1:7). When you come to him, your past doesn’t define you anymore. In Jesus, you are made new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Grace means God sees you not for your mistakes, but for who you are in Jesus.
You were made on purpose, for a purpose. God created you with intention and sees your life as deeply valuable (Psalm 139:13-16). Even when things feel uncertain, you can trust that God is working in your life with hope and direction (Jeremiah 29:11; Ephesians 2:10). Your life matters to God, and He has a unique role for you in His bigger story. This starts with knowing Jesus and making him known.
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, but it helps you grow as one. The Bible encourages us to gather together, encourage each other, and grow in faith as a community (Hebrews 10:24-25). Church isn’t just a place, it’s people, and we weren’t meant to follow Jesus alone.
We live in a broken world, one that’s been affected by sin and human choice. God didn’t create evil, but He gave us the freedom to make our own decisions, and we’ve all turned away from him. But God hasn’t left us alone in our pain. He walks with us, and He brings good out of brokenness (Romans 8:28). In Jesus, we see a God who suffers with us and offers hope beyond this life (John 16:33) as he will one day make all things right (Revelation 21:4).
The Bible is clear that heaven and hell are real. Eternity is not just a concept, but a destination (Romans 6:23). For those who trust in Jesus, heaven is the promise of being with him forever (John 14:2-3). God doesn’t want anyone to be separated from him (2 Peter 3:9), which is why he made a way for us to live with him forever in heaven through Jesus.
Jesus invites everyone to have a personal relationship with him, no matter your past or present. Following him means we surrender every part of our lives to His love and design, including our identity, sexuality, and choices (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The Bible gives a framework for living that reflects God’s heart, calling us to honor him with our whole lives (Romans 12:1-2).
Faith and science aren’t at odds. They both help us explore truth. The Bible tells us that God created the universe (Genesis 1:1), and the beauty, order, and complexity we see in the world point to a Creator (Romans 1:20). While science helps us understand how the world works, faith helps us understand who made it and why we’re here. Far from being in conflict, many scientists throughout history and today see their work as a way of discovering more about God’s creation.
